Jobcentre Plus has more than 1,000 Jobcentres nationwide that can help you find recruits for a whole range of positions and sectors, either locally or nationwide in some cases. It doesn't cost anything to post a vacancy, and you can benefit from support both before and after the position is filled.

Services offered by Jobcentre Plus include advice on recruitment methods and procedures; information about the local labour market such as employment levels; availability of candidates and wage rates; and advice on any difficulties or barriers to filling your vacancies.

When posting a job, you will need to provide full details of the vacancy, including location, wages, hours and any qualifications you expect candidates to have. It is also important to file any other details such as whether a driving license will be required. This will help to avoid wasting your and your candidate's time later on.

The details of the job are entered into a computer system that jobseekers can either access themselves or through a consultant at the Jobcentre, and posted on the http://jobseekers.direct.gov.uk website.

You can now post, view and update your jobs yourself through Employer Direct online. You can also email your vacancies at any time to employerdirect-vacancies@jobcentreplus.gsi.gov.uk.

Pros

You can use the Jobcentre as a base for interviews and the consultants are always on hand to help. It is also free.

Cons

It can be a time-consuming process as you are relying on people coming into the Jobcentre to see your adverts, or searching on the Directgov website.
